Im an inconsistent friend.

I am inconsistent but I am dependable.

I'll go days without texting, calling, chatting.. I will fall off the face of the earth. That does not mean I don't love you. My mood changes a lot, some days I just want to throw my phone at the wall and disappear. I am so tired of being tied to a phone, to social media, etc. We're busy now, we have separate lives outside of one another. Things have changed and we are no longer 12 year old girls sitting down at the cafeteria lunch table gossiping in the middle of the day. We are no longer freshmen in college meeting up before softball practices for protein smoothies and lunch. We're busy. You have your life, I have mine. But that does not mean I love you any less than I did 10 years ago or even 5 years ago. It just means we are growing up.

But when push comes to shove, I'll be there for you. If you call me in the middle of the night and need someone, I will be there. If you're in town and only have 2 hours I will work to move mountains so we can meet up. I may be inconsistent, but I am a good DEPENDABLE friend --

-- and I have INCONSISTENT but DEPENDABLE friends. I love my friends that I don't talk to everyday. I love my friends that cheer me on from afar.

This was a learning curve for me. In 2021, I completed an internship where one of my good friends said "one of my best friends and I only chat once every 3 months.. We call one another, we talk for hours and then we plan to talk in 3 more months."

I never really expected that to happen in my friendships. But I then watched my best friends get "real" full-time jobs, move away, get into new relationships, have children, etc. While their life is changing so is mine, and I no longer see them every day.

But, my love for them hasn't changed, I still cheer them on all the way from Georgia. Even if that means they are in Ohio, Massachusetts, Florida and anywhere else they might be.

IM STILL ROOTING FOR Y'ALL!!!
