"My Life Looks Better On Instagram"

In the past few years, I have made it a point to just post what I want without forethought. Throughout high school and most of college, I had the perfectly curated social media (or at least I tried to). I wanted people to have a certain perception of me. I wanted them to only see the good, the beautiful and never know there was any bad or ugly. But the truth is I am so tired of caring about that anymore. I just want authenticity, I want normalcy. My life is not filters and all things beautiful.

Everything in life is messy, no ones life will ever be perfect and mine sure as hell is not. I am tired of acting like mine is to everyone. I have gotten so tired of social media and all that comes with it. There is not much of a point to it anymore, i get so bored scrolling through various platforms. Very seldom do you find someone who shows the good, the bad and the ugly of their life on the media. I think we are all terribly afraid to admit to others that we have bad days, we are not perfect. Well, we are all human. Shit happens, things turn sideways, upside down, inside out. YOU ARE NOT PERFECT.

We, humans, need to learn to live without the constant need of rubbing in others faces what we had for lunch yesterday, what amazing location we went and saw last week because quite honestly i doubt anyone really gives a shit.

My life is messy, sloppy, upside down, and inside out.

I feel like I have so many different sides of me and my life I have to curate to please people and I am tired. I am tired of having to play so many different roles. I just want to be me. But who even am i? My life looks better on instagram, and i think i like that because its your typical case of escapism. If you don't know what's happening then I can pretend like I don't know either.
