Serendipity - the real deal

It's so unbelievable how things in life happen. Ever since a young age, I would probably say middle school.. people who knew me would say I was "boy crazy." But quite honestly I think I always wanted to kind of feel like I had a purpose, like someone had wanted me. I spent my high school years craving attention and affection. I always wanted to be "wanted" by someone. I went through numerous "relationships" but at this rate I am not sure if I would even consider then relationships.. They were all just so messy and teenage boys never know what they truly want. I started dating a boy my senior year of high school and he thought he was IT and for the months we were together so did I. Gosh, I was so blind. I wish my parents would've physically hit me upside the head.. but we all eventually learn. That relationship took a turn for the worse when I went away to college. My fall semester went quickly downhill when things ended.

But, as life goes and has its ups and down things changed. I was finally started to get back to normal. Finally starting to feel like "me" again and then..... covid hit. Everyone dreaded covid, but in a sense I guess I kind of got lucky because of covid. My college campus allowed sophomores to move off of campus due to covid.. My roommate at the time, Annabelle, was taking my dog out when she ran into people she knew from the year prior from her old dorm...

And that..

That is how I met Colin.

Colin was and is my best friend. He quickly became my favorite coffee date, my favorite study buddy, my favorite person to sing (scream) songs with in the car.. my favorite dinner, ice cream, lunch, breakfast and everything you can imagine date.

Colin became my protector (protecting me from crazy boys whom threatened to punch me in the face and suffocate me with a pillow.... yes, that happened).

Annie will forever tease me about the night I met Colin and she will take credit for me meeting Colin, but I give all the credit to Ryder. He is quite the wing man.

Meeting Colin was luck.. it was serendipity

Serendipity, the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way and that is exactly what Colin was to me.

Colin has quickly become my best friend. The one person I can count on for anything. Colin keeps me grounded. I have never met someone so calm, caring, kind and intelligent. Life with Colin is nothing but sweet. It is so nice living life with someone who gets me.. my other half.

We survived being apart for the summer and dealing with the battles of little to no communication due to basic training and we've faced so much together and traveled so far. I sit in awe somedays as I think "wow this is my life." I get to come home to my best friend everyday.. our two dogs, our own place and I get this. I finally get my happily ever after with the man of my dreams.

Colin, if you're reading this I love you more than you could ever imagine and I can't wait to spend forever with you.
